Accessory Dwelling Units & Junior Accessory Dwelling Units

The City Council adopted a new Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance on June 9, 2020. Ordinance No. 6483 became effective after 30-days on July 9, 2020. 

  • Contact the Public Works Department via email at PWPermits@anaheim.net to verify that there is sewer capacity to add an ADU to the property

    • The Accessory Dwelling Unit development standards are also accessible via the City’s municipal code.

Senate Bill No. 9

The City Council adopted a new ordinance addressing Senate Bill No. 9 on January 25, 2022. Ordinance No. 6524 became effective on February 24, 2022 and provides development standards for a Two Unit Development and Urban Lot Splits.
